When you start to receive catalogs in the mail with these beautiful flowers pictured, you know the holidays are approaching! I took some photos last winter of this blooming Amaryllis and I'm looking forward to receiving another bulb this year. Hint, hint to anyone in the family who's listening...
Reading about all the terrible flooding in Colorado made me remember our wonderful family vacations there. Such a beautiful area! I hope they're able to get back to normal quickly.
This painting was taken from a photo I took at a dog show. I don't know if this dog is a Siberian Husky or an Alaskan Malamute. After researching online about their characteristics and differences, I'm embarrassed to say I still don't know! Anybody?
I took a picture of this gorgeous Borzoi at a dog show recently. He reminded me of our Alfie who was a goofy fun loving guy. He learned life in the country the hard way. Horses don't always watch where they step and cats tend to scratch you when they're irritated!
August is here so it's time to hit the beach and make the most of what's left of summer! Here is our daughter enjoying the cool ocean breeze on the California coast.
Here are three very attentive birders squeezing together for a good look. Ordinarily they wouldn't like to be this close to each other but bird watching is a team sport!
This is Oscar doing his "Jabba the hut" imitation. Oscar really does have a neck but sometimes he likes to scrunch his head down into his shoulders so he can look plump and strange. He's a big Star Wars fan.
Boo is a cat with discriminating taste. He has a few close friends and he likes it that way. He's a very sweet cat but only when he wants to be. You don't want to mess with Boo!
This was painted from a photo of my daughter taken many years ago. What's a better subject than a little girl wearing a crisp, white sun dress sitting in the sun next to some colorful flowers?
I don't bake pies but I sure enjoy eating them! So I'm looking forward to eating all the freshly baked pies that will be for sale at Farmer's Market when it opens. This strawberry rhubarb pie was baked by my dad when he was still baking his fancy pies.
I'm not sure if this guy is a Labradoodle or a Golden Doodle but he's big and happy. He has thick wavy hair that I'd gladly pay a hairdresser to give me.
I came upon this lovely courtyard in northern California many years ago. And with all the winter weather we've had lately, I'm ready to go back for a visit.
