PJ is a sweetheart who's a service dog in training. You can see a bit of her trademark yellow cape. Through Canine Companions for Independence, volunteers work in their homes with puppies provided by the organization. When the dogs are about 15 months old, they go to a Regional Training Center for more advanced training. PJ will be graduating soon to the next level.
Good luck PJ!
I was lucky enough to come across a woman walking her two collies at the farmers' market last summer. This collie flashed a smile for me as I was taking her picture!
Jester is in training to be a guide dog for the blind. So far he's been more of a class clown but I'm sure in time he'll reach his true potential and graduate with flying colors!
This little happy girl used to bounce around the neighborhood as a puppy. She grew up with her three lovely sisters (who happen to walk on 2 legs instead of 4).
As we pack up the decorations, Oscar is hanging on to the last vestiges of the holidays by wrapping himself in the Christmas tree skirt. It's sad to see the holidays end but exciting to think about what the new year will bring!
Reading about all the terrible flooding in Colorado made me remember our wonderful family vacations there. Such a beautiful area! I hope they're able to get back to normal quickly.
This painting was taken from a photo I took at a dog show. I don't know if this dog is a Siberian Husky or an Alaskan Malamute. After researching online about their characteristics and differences, I'm embarrassed to say I still don't know! Anybody?
I took a picture of this gorgeous Borzoi at a dog show recently. He reminded me of our Alfie who was a goofy fun loving guy. He learned life in the country the hard way. Horses don't always watch where they step and cats tend to scratch you when they're irritated!
August is here so it's time to hit the beach and make the most of what's left of summer! Here is our daughter enjoying the cool ocean breeze on the California coast.
